CODE 32 (302CID EEC IV)

Hi to all,
I still have the hassitation/surging engine problem that I'm trying to solve.

I just replaced the EEC relay, checked all the grounds & referance voltage of the ECM & they are OK, I checked for codes & have a "CODE 32" EVP circuit has intermittently failed below minimum voltage of 0.24 volts.

The EVP sensor is new.

I checked the EGR & it is able to hold vacuum, it's very clean & so is the intake hole, I also made a gasket made from metal & placed it where the EGR connects to the intake & the engine still surges while driving on the street, so my thought is that if the EGR system is OK & I'm still having this surging problem why is the ECM telling me that code 32?

Does any one know what could be the problem?

You probably have a connector or wiring problem with the egr feedback sensor circuit. You can have mulitple problems with a engine, and the computer only sees the egr problem, and I agree it's probably not causing the surging symptoms you have.

When does the surging happen? Cold engine only? Warm engine only? Pulling hills only? Light cruise on level ground only?

It only happens when the engine is hot, driving on level ground under 45 mph, I can duplicate the problem if I leave it in idle for about 10-15 minutes, also it will drive much better when it rains.

I will remove the EGR today & recheck the passage way again closer, I might have to take the throtle body off to make sure because it's hard to see...

Well here is the latest, I took the throttle body off yesterday & cleand all the carbon build up which was not much, the IAC Valve had a little too, but when I removed the EGR Valve I saw that at the end of the passage of the intake manifold was a mound of carbon about a 1/4" at it's highest point so I cleaned that out as well as little bit inside the intake manifold, the part I had a problem cleaning was the EGR tube I tryed using a piece of 1/4'' aircraft cable but was not able to reach all the way into the hole, so I don't know if that's pluged up...I would like to remove the tube but that beans taking out the fuel rail I'll think of another way the EGR Valve looks clean.

What I forgot to do is check the water passage way on the throttle body, I was thinking that if it was pluged up it might cause the throttle body to heat up?? Any thoughts???
