After reading about '99 Expedition problems....

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-May-02 AT 08:26 AM (EST)]...such as oil leaks, transfer case problems etc.
I wish Toyota would have had the Sequoia out in '99.
My son-in-law has a Sequoia with 55000 miles on it and never had any problems.
I have 0 confidence in this truck.
Why don't we hear this crap about Toyota's?
Fortunately I took the Ford protection plan and it will be in effect for another 2 3/4 years.
What a shame a $41+K list truck that seems will definitely have major problems in the near future.

what problems? I keep hearing the same same story at a couple of web sites and don't know if I am just under the guideance of a guardian angle or these folks just have real bad luck. I have a 99 F150 (same mechanically as my 99 Expy) that just past 175k recentaly with no problems. My 99 Expy has only 28k but also run flawlessly. My company has several 99 F150's and an Expy, all have gone well over 100k with no problems.

I do have a friend with a sickoia, damn thing just can seem to keep the power windows working, sunroof leaks, leather is cheap and spliting, sound system sucks, engine has good power untill he trys to tow (no torque) does have a nice quite ride and a good rating from consumer reports though.

My brother has a tudry, good for a personal use grocery geter but not much of a truck, he will tell you that too.

I never heard of the transfer case problem before but the oil leak is a big problem.

I have 26000 on my '99 and other than defective front shocks the truck has been great.
I don't like the feeling of waiting for these problems to appear.
I wonder what the percentage of trucks are having these problems.10.20,50%?

Never heard of anyone having so many problems with a Toyota built vehicle.
