Diagnostic code confusion

Ok, I have a 1988 F 150 5.0/302 4 speed 4x4 that has been flashing the check engine light for a few months now and idling around 2500 rpm after running a while, with the occasional jerk or surge while driving, no real loss of power that I've noticed. Scanned it today and it threw 2 codes: 44 and 63. From what research I've done, I found that code 44 is Thermactor air system fault (which I still have virtually no clue what is), and 63 is Throttle Position circuit fault, below minimum voltage. I guess this means I need a new Throttle positioning sensor, or just check what I have. This truck has been sitting off and on for the past several years, started driving it almost daily back in July and have noticed a drop from the GREAT 10 MPG i was getting, to what now seems like an 8. The truck has at LEAST 300,000 miles on it but still runs fine, except for this, and I'd like to keep it that way
ANY help would be greatly appreciated

Ford Fuel Injection Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Here is a link on how to check the TPS.
The thermactor thing is the smog pump junk.
The high idle could well be due to a bad TPS.
