What the heck is the "Air Pump" for on my 4.9L?
May sound like a stupid question for some, but this is my first ever Electronic Injected engine so bear with me.

The air pump is part of an emissions system on these trucks, it pumps fresh air into the cats on cold starts to help light them off quicker, but after than it's just bypassed to atmosphere.
