knock, knock, knocking
hi guys, i gotta 84 f150 with the 302 v8. In the last 2000 miles, the engine has gotten louder, it just sounds like the whole thing is clattering around. factory oil gauge reads to the "R" in NORMAL like it always has. I checked timing a while ago and it was correct for stock. It is most noticable in park idle and while accelerating, but goes away in gear idle and at low rpm cruising. My question is it bearing related or spark related? Granted, its got 110,000 on it, but it seems like all of a sudden it got worse immediatly. Currently im running fresh 10w-40 and a new filter so the oil is plenty thick.

I had a similar problem and started with the lifters. It wasn't them so I kept looking, and it ended up being my cam bearings being shot. Lifters would be the next easiest and cheapest thing I would look at.
