Few simple questions
Hello to all!
DISCLAIMER: *I am sure these questions have been asked before and for that I am sorry. I wanted to put all the questions in one post instead of a ton of them!*
First some background info: I am looking for a truck that will tow a 12k trailer 5k miles per year, so not much. The rest of the time use it as a daily driver or to haul snowmobiles around or light grunt work. I am a collage student and money is always tight, so im looking to spend no more than 12k...
Trucks in this ballpark are from the early 00's with 150k+ miles, 7.3, 6.0 and 6.4's as well as gas powered trucks are all included.
1st off, diesel or gas? I would prefer diesel but am I asking for trouble on a tight budget? With no warranty, the last thing I want to do is throw thousands of dollars away on injectors?
How long do both gas and diesel trucks go for? Is the listed mileage getting up there?
What about fuel mileage, both towing and around town with gas and diesel powerplants?
I know Ford puts the 5.4 Triton in 3/4 trucks, is there any chance in hell that will pull a 12k pound trailer?
Any advise is greatly appreciated!
