explorer cam

Anyone have any specs on a cam out of a 2000 explorer. I know it has gt40p heads and intake, dont know if the cam is worth using, or if it might work in a 92 speed den. 5.0 in my truck.

I don't know for sure because you'd have to see the specks for the cam but I'd say most likely not going to work! I am doing a SD 351w rebuild right now and the cam has to have 114 degrees (or more) of lobe seperation for my motor. You have to keep the vacuum up in SD motors. I guess wider lobe seperation helps this... I'm not sure if you have more choices with a 302 SD truck but I wouldn't think too much more... I ended up getting a comp cam 35-255-5. The 2000 Explorer is most likely MAF and won't have the correct lobe seperation on its cam to work in the 302 but that is just a guess. Conanski is the one who helped me with my cam selection (he knows everything I swear!). If you don't want to spend a ton on a cam then you can try a local machine shop who will have "RV" cams with greater lift and duration for a cheaper price.
