some of the 2000's had 50's up front, rear is definitely a sterling 10.5.
check the front axle tag, there should be a stamped tag attached to one of the bolts on the pumpkin.
Glad to help. I just went through the same thing and turned out I had a 50, not the 60. Ended up ordering the wrong gears the first go around.
Good luck and let us know what you came up with.
I noticed a huge difference in low end torque. My RPM's at 70-75 are still comfortable, but above that its pretty loud (2500 at about 80). Gained about 3 mpg in city driving. Lost some on the highway, but its pretty negligable. The best part is that the truck in general feels more alive.
I was able to get genuine gears through rusty's ring and pinion.
I believe there are a few others here that have gone with different manufacturers however.
I have heard good things about them, but with only a couple thousand miles on them I cant really give a great opinion on longevity.
I do not have a doortag anymore (was a white fleet vehicle, now red fleet) so I do not know what axles or anything about my truck. How can i tell.
If i remember correctly, the d50 is a reverse cut gearset and the d60 is still regular cut?? Is that correct, or am I sleep deprived enough that im an idiot. I can pull the front cover off and look at the gears (i want to change the fluid anyway) My truck is a 1ton, are those all d60s or still potential d50
