thinking about a 2002 FX4

i happened across a 2002 FX4 4 screw, has the 5.4, tires about half, dual exhaust, pretty good shape except for a scratch by the driver side tail light about as big as my thumb 75000 miles dealer want 14700 is that a realistic price or do i have some bargaining power

Offer 13 for it,if they start "discussing" it with you...walk away.I just about garuntee that youll not get out the door before they cave in.If they let you keep walking...do so.

Also...Look it up in the NADA book.When I traded my 97 for my 07,the stealerships price was exactly what NADA posted.I was prepared,and got 1800 bucks knocked off the 07.

KBB is showing (for my area) $11050 private party value, $8400 trade, and $13800 dealer retail. I'd shoot for 13 too, but I'd give up to $13500 and walk....

I would offer $12k to start. I have the same truck 02 Screw FX4, 5.4, 78k miles. I was looking to trade in on a 2010, I had to work them hard to get to $10500 trade-in, and my truck is pristine. They had started at 9k trade.

Given that, I believe they have a lot of room to work with...good luck!

thanks for the reply guys, went and drove it today, real nice drove nice, didn't have my truck with me but he said without looking at it he thought maybe we were in the 3500-4000 range trade in wise which is good cuz thats about what i was thinking, i sure liked the truck and most of all the 4 doors just can;t get pumped about payments again so i don't know

well they offered me 3800 for my truck so we are on the right path at least....... i would be happy if they would give me another $200 and knock theres down to 13-13.5 so i guess let the bargaining begin tomarow, i will let you guys know
