e.g.r. valve

My mechanic just replaced my egr valve and my engine check light will not go out, he told me that it had to do with the computer on the truck not clearing the old code.
Does anybody know of a fix for this
Thanks
ooooo I have a 93 bronco with a 5.0 in it
Thanks again

Thumbs up e.g.r. valve

You may reset the computer, thus clearing all fault codes, by disconnecting the negative battery cable and reconnecting after 10 minutes or so. The owner's manual for my '93 said to drive five or ten miles under varying conditions to allow the computer a chance to restore its operating parameters.
