Hello all, i'm getting ready to buy some new shocks for my 04 350 cc drw 4x4 6.0 What are the recomendations for shocks that you all run. Thanks in advance Ryan.
I'm happy with my bilstiens. I have the 5100s in front and the standards in the rear. What ever you get, just be sure it's valved and spec'd in length for your truck (think about any lift or heavy tires).
I recall some kind of formula for unsprung weight and shock valving, and there was also another formula for sprung weight. I think one was for compression and the other rebound. Good valving makes the difference between a POS shock and performance or comfort ride.
Thanks for the info. Shocks are my next repair. I want the Bilstiens but I don't want a harsh ride. I just want the control back. Its a street truck so I don't need a off road shock.
Agreed,
If you don't like a firm ride go with a aftermarket OEM equivalent. The Bilsteins will give you superior "control" but are stiff. I personally like the Bilsteins and the control they provide. The firm ride i don't mind except now with all the Frost Heaves here in NewEngland.
