I'd like to understand something about my 94 7.3L IDI I/P.
There is a black cloth covered hose connecting each
injector and then returns to the top of the I/P. Before
entering the I/P the flow has to pass through a check
valve. It strikes me as weird that the check valve is
set to allow flow from the I/P into the hose but stops
flow into the I/P. That is just the opposite of the way
I thought the flow moved. I have a spare check valve I
removed from my old I/P before I turned it in. I can
unseat the ball inside by pressing it in a direction
toward the hose. That means that flow trying to move
toward the I/P would be stopped. I thought that hose
was called the injector return line. Why is the flow
prevented from going into the I/P or is there something
I don't know. Fill me in.
