does anyone have a diagram or know that the different color wire going threw the firwall go to on a 1990-91 f350 had the 7.3L diesel i hooked the big yellow wire and big black wire to the battery and go the dinger, heater controls and the guage idiot lights
What is the problem? Did you lose all the power to the cab? If so check the connector on the passenger side fender well near the starting solinoid. The plug is a known source to corrode and lose power. It may even be discolored and melted. If you can't get it clean some have by-passed it and hooked the wires directly to each other. It will be the heavier wires in the plug IIRC.
well basically nothing is hooked up i bought the truck with no motor in it so no idea were the wires go. i have a 500hp cummins 12v sitting in it right now just need to be wired there is a cupple wires cut but for the most part the harness is intact. i basically need to know what the different color wires go to so i can run new for all the engine components. yes rathdrum is rathdrum idaho
oh right on i actually just moved up to spirit lake but i will be in rathdrum on tuesday and wednesday my phone number is 208-651-2377. i do have the plug near the heater but dont have the other end is it the plug that has like 10-12 pins?
The last pic is the engine harness plug that includes the wires to operate the glowplugs (Black heavy wires with white tracer), wire to energize the fuel shutoff which you could use on your cummins. The other plug in the pic that is just below the big plug is the vacuum warning light sensor. Let me see if I got another schematic.
this is mine:
Ford used the starting solinoid on the fender as a tap for anything they wanted hot at all times. If you look at a stock original Ford you'll notice all the wires attached to the one lug, this is why. So you have to start somewhere, it's one place to start.
