Ticking???
I have a 96 F150 EB 5.0 2wd and there is a ticking sound coming from the engine bay area while im driving? The ticking only happens when its in drive and its from 25 mph -45 mph but then it could be higher, at that speed i usually just hear the road from then. Only things I have done lately is oil change, tune up(plugs, wires, cap, and rotor). Any ideas of what it could be?

It actually might be your hub caps. believe it or not I hear this all the time from my friends and it ends up being their hub caps weren't on straight or something and they heard ticking, if not then it might be a misfire

I have checked the exhaust and no noticeable leaks, and all caps are on snugged on the wheels. I would leave the truck running in park and the ticking isnt there so i would only assume that it would not be an exhaust leak.

Well, i also tried driving down a narrow road so i can listen for the ticking and then put it in neutral to see if the noise is there and it is not there. its as if the ticking sound happens when i give it gas in drive.
