Weird electrical problem
I approached my 01 V10 F350 and noticed from outside that the interior overhead lights were flashing. Inside there was also a relay or something clicking, sort of like the turn signal, but not that. By manually turning on one of the overhead lights, the flashing and clicking stops. Turn the light off and it starts again. Put the key in and turn it to on and it stops. Remove the key and leave the truck and it starts clicking and flashing again.
Both times the battery is basically dead and requiring a jump to start the truck. I guess the battery could be dead from the flashing lights since it is often several days between driving the truck. But since the first time it happened, there have been spans of many days the truck has just set and it starts right up when I go to use it.
Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing the relay clicking and light flashing?
Thanks!
