waterpump removal

Trying to remove the water pump on my 96' 7.3. I got the fan nut removal set from AAP which was just a set of different wrenches. But, which way to I need to turn that nut? Is it normal or reversed threaded? Thanks

Mine was normal right hand. Mine had a sticker telling me that on top.

What Darin said. Mine siad it to lol but I never noticed it till I got it back together, I had to read my Powerstroke Repair Manual.

Yep, they can be a bear to get off. It's a lot easier if you use a breaker bar on the one wrench so you can get some torque.

thanks guys. wound up getting it off. it wasn't really hard at all. the wrench set I rented from AAP had the wrench that went over the fan clutch nut and it also had one square shaped that went over the pulley nuts and held it in place. using the two wrenches together it came pretty easy almost too easy. Man was it dirty in there. Makes me want to get a coolant filter while I'm at it. Now I just got to wait on my 203* thermostat and housing to come in before I put the new one on. Don't really want to leave to leave it open for a couple of days but oh well. thanks all
