water leaking

temp gauge shot up on my 2.8 on the freeway today so I pulled to a stop, let her cool down and had little water in the radiator. I filled it up drove home with the engine running really cool, but when I stopped in the driveway water was pouring out somewhere under the engine (not the radiator). I couldnt quite see wher it was coming from but a lot came out. There was a little steam and some hissing as well. Could this be the water pump?
Thanks for any info.

Check all of your radiator / heater hoses. Check the water pump. Something tells me you have a ruptured hose and possibly a bad thermostat. Absolute worst case is that you might have blown a head gasket or cracked a head and over-pressurized the cooling system, causing a hose to fail, etc.
