I have a 2000 DRW with 65K miles with auto tranny and 4X4. Starting to notice vibration when I slow down from freeway speeds. The vibration gets worse when I apply the brakes. I dont think its the rotors cuz the pedals are not pulsating and it does it when I let off the go pedal.
I bought this truck last year and got with it an extended warranty. I placed an order from Clay for DP tuner and all the goodies after getting my tax return. I would like to have it looked at by either the dealer or tranny place before I install the tuner.
If the vibration only shows up on decel when letting off the acceperator, sounds like a drive line issue (u-joints, center carrier bearing, etc.). The u-joints aren't too difficult. The carrier bearing will have to be pressed on and off with a heavy duty hydraulic press, and the nut holding it on has to be torqued to something like 300 ft-lbs. I just went through the same thing.
If you do any of the replacement yourself, make SURE to use wheel chocks and the e-brake BEFORE breaking the drive shaft loose!! PLEASE!! I have THAT tee-shirt as well!! (and the scars and aches from the resulting ankle surgery).
