I am in the process of buy a 97 f350 7.3 auto and it has 195k on it. I was wondering if it was a bad idea to but any type of chip or power upgrade on it due to miles on the engine, trans, etc etc?
I know thats not a ton of miles on a diesel. but as i have never owned one before i just worry.

Thanks for the help!
I would be less worried if you were to go the custom chip route versus something like Edge. The autos behind the 7.3s are not the best in the world, that would be the weakest link that I could think of. You can make them stronger, but out of the box they are weak.
I would do something from DP or Bean as those seem to be the best ones out there. One other guy has a good rep Tony something can't remember the last part. I would just make sure they are custom tunes.
