351C/M valve length issues?

I am having a discussion in another forum. A fella claims that the 351C 2V heads that he put on his 400 don't work, because the length of the VALVES is different... NO, we all know the pushrod length is different, but he says he is using the 400's pushrods, but just the 351C 2V complete head bolted on!
Can anyone confirm the difference in length?
Also, he claims that 351M/400 heads are not the same as 351C 2V because of the smog bumps in the exhaust ports. Did the 351C 2V also get smog bumps in later production? Like, maybe 1972 and on?

wow there is a lot here. basicly, in theory, they are the same. they use the same valves, are the same castings.

it has been noted, that exhaust ports do vary from the 351c 2v and the 351M/400 heads. all heads had the exhaust bumps, from my understanding.

im guessing that maybe the 351C heads had been shaved.

Never heard of any differences between the valve lengths on 2V and M heads. My '74 2V heads did have the thermactor port bumps and passages.
