I'm stumped

Evening FTE!
I have a pretty big problem I am trying to figure out and have been looking around this forum for a while now. I'm seeing some stuff that partially sounds like what is going wrong with my truck but nothing that identically sounds like mine so i figured i would try to get some help on my own now.

It all started when I found out that I had a bad GPR (found out from you guys on here) So i get that fixed and it runs well for a little while then it starts acting funny. The problem is that until the truck is warmed up completely theres no use even trying to go anywhere. When i plug it in it will romp romp romp then goto a nice idle but if i give it any gas or try to move it then i get a bunch of white smoke and then a sudden shut off. I was looking through here today and was reading about ICPs going bad on trucks often so i decided to unplug it and let my truck cool down and try to start it again. It definitely started up quicker but if i gave it gas or anything then it just shut off. Any help would be appreciate.

BTW. you guys on here are genius'. I figured out another problem i was having today by reading on here. It was a blown inter cooler boot. luckly everybody on this site is really knowledgeable and i defiantly appreciate all that you guys post up on here.

If your truck still romps after you have it plugged in, then you either have a bad block heater and/or GPR.
Edit: Just read your post again and saw that you already changed out the GPR. Maybe bad glow plugs or harness. Have you ohmed out the plugs yet. I would also reccomend you install the GPR LED just to make sure all is working correctly.

I am thinking time for an oil change as well..A fresh engine of synthetic might do you good.

Remove the plug on top of the hpop and check the oil level. Do this when it has not been started in a while, preferably over night. If the level is low, then something is not right and allowing the oil level to drain off. This could possibly cause the white smoke and romp romp scenario?

AE is a pc based scan tool that we use to read codes and see what is going on with our trucks. I use Shell Rotella Synthetic (syn blue bottle dino white bottle) along with a Motorcraft filter. You can get both at Wally Word.
I would recommend the Syn where you have the colder winter temps and the romps.

You will need 16 quarts to do the oil change. The filter holds a tad over a quart so prefill it before you install it. Another tip break the old filter loose but do not remove it just yet poke a hole in it to drain the oil from it after it has drained then remove it.
