1966 4x4 F-100 Engine Question

Thanks to you folks, I got my truck running after 10 years of sitting. She was smoking (white oily smoke out the tailpipes, plugs are oily).

So I'm wondering should I rebuild this 352 or get a 390 off of craigslist and upgrade?

Any thoughts?

Well Sam, I like the 390 myself, but the 352 is a good engine, or redo the 352 into a 390. But if you get a 390, make sure it is a 390. On sale day it seems like all FE engines become 390's.

So I am going to look at a 1969 pickup that a guy is parting out. I'll hear it run before I buy it, (I have to pull it myself), but I think I can get it for 200 bucks. What should I look for to make sure it's a 390?

Only way to tell for sure is check the stroke.
