Hey guys,
I have a '98 Expedition EB, 5.4, 4R100 trans. When taking off, especially when cold, it goes into drive. Give it gas it slowly creeps forward and then eventually catches up and takes off like it should have from the start. It sometimes does this when it is warm too. The truck has been doing this for a couple of years. I pull a 3000 pound boat with it and have no trouble pulling up a steep ramp. The fluid and filter has been changed. I swapped the neutral switch with a used one and no change. Any ideas?
I originally posted this in the Expedition forum but still looking for more suggestions. After all, we use the same transmission. And I do have an F150 grill on my Expedition.
I'm not exactly a newbie. I used to read these forums all the time, started back in 2003 when I bought my Expedition. I stopped visiting for awhile and had to rejoin.
I never said you were a newbie.
Don't know where ya got that. I was just giving you the best advise I could.
A slipping tranny is a warning sign of it getting ready to go.
It could slip for a year or two,but usually a much shorter time. And you could get in it tomorrow and your truck not move. Ya just never know.
I got "NEWBIE" from the smiley faces at the bottom line of your signature. I wasn't offended by it, just making a statement. And I do appreciate your advice. Thanks.
hahahaha Thats my sig,
I'm the newbie.
It's a joke. All the members in my chapter have a link there to join the DE chapter.
I couldn't get the link to work so I called myself a Newbie as a joke.
Good luck with the trans and let us know how it turns out.
