Look, I know this is not only the most asked question, and with an FE 390 it's a dumb question but I have a trip in June that I'm taking the truck on since it's my only one, and i need to know what I should be putting aside for gas.
I have the FE 390, 2bbl Stock carb, previous owner told me it had a radical cam, a 4spd, 4wd, highboy suspension, true duals exiting before the rear tires going through burnt out cherry bombs, but I'll be replacing them before the trip.
What should I get on the highway?
I'm doing a FULL tuneup before the trip.
I would guess around 10 mpg. My old 75 F-100 4x4 when i got it with a 360 only got around 8 but when i put a 460 in it then it got 10 mpg. Depends on the gear ratio, tires and if you have the full time transfer case 203. Still would guess around 10.
