I got a message that reads:
im trying to crank my very stubborn 7.3 psd. taking off the serp belt will help i think, but is there anything that would hard the motor by cranking it w/o the belt? would it still crank at all?? thanks dude!!

adamax21...here is a better place to post Brother. I can't imagine (if you have good batteries) anything on your front end will slow it down. I am not sure what your question is . Can you explain the symptoms a little more? What state are you in? Is it cold. Did you turn it off and now it won't start? Did it die on you while driving?
1 Does it crank?
2 Does it crank fast?
3 If it is cranking do you have smoke?

We will get you going Brother! Help us help you.

starter on the way to die maybe? or water pump with a dead bearing? are there any unusual sounds to hear while cranking?
is it an auto or manual transmission?
more details will be helpful as copedawg said....
