Hey Ky79, Do you have a name we can call you or do you want to go by KY79?

I actually thought today was nice compared to the past few days, but then again I did spend most of my time inside. I have school tomorrow so I will feel its effects for sure.

I guess I've been lucky here lately. All of my jobs have been inside. I've got another 500 mile drive again tomorrow.

Get this. Yesterday I had a job in Owensboro and then one in Evansville. (you can look at a map and see how close they are.) While at Atlas Van Lines in Evansville yesterday, I get a call from a guy needing a drive axle spindle in Mt Vernon, In. He's less than 20 miles away from where I am. I tell him I can be there in about an hour and can do the job for $900.00. Since I'm already out that far, and I got my mileage paid by Atlas and the guy in Owensboro, I wouldn't charge him any mileage IF, I can do the job tonight. I have to be in Indianapolis in the morning to do a drive spindle for Stoops Freightliner. He said no, we have to close at 4:30. So, the best I could do was Friday morning, and I will charge mileage. 247 miles one way from my house to his shop according to mapquest. I would rather have done it yesterday, and gone to Indy today and be home late tonight, with a free day tomorrow, or at least be available for another job if one comes in tomorrow.

You wouldn't want his job when he is working outside in the freezing cold or in the blistering heat lol. I sometimes wish I could do road work for the company I work for until winter hits and I know those guys are up in bell towers in subzero weather. Not me no way nope nope nope!!!!!

I like what I do but still hate it sometimes. I tried to do other things besides welding fab work but always come back to it. It is in my blood, my dad is' his dad and my mom's dad were welder/fab guys. My dad told me to find a different line of work when I was still a kid but I ended up in the same thing so I guess it is what best siutes me. Lucky for me I get to do it indoors most of the time. I just can't stand days like today when I have built something to the drawings and turns out it don't work and I have to do it all over again. This usaully happens after i try to install it lol.

It has enabled me to see a lot of Kentucky, Indiana, and parts of Virginia, and West Virginia. There's a lot to see if you want to take the time and do some driving.
