cause i said cam (singular) and if i would have told him the total cost, it would have seemed like i was suggesting that each cam costs 700

You mentioned 100,000 miles.
Have the spark plugs been changed?
Are the coils functioning properly?
Has the air intake system been properly cleaned?
What type air filter are you using?
Have you checked for trouble codes?
Just trying to get a general idea of the engine condition and what your expectations are.
