High Speed Idle - WONT!

High Speed Idle - WONT!
I have been puzzled over a problem that I have had. It is just too damn cold here at the moment to let the dino run for 45 minutes to warm up because it would not kick the high speed idle on.
I tried every test I could find, all to no avail.
I finally figured it out. Now my 7.3 is a hand shaker. Most people that has a manual will set the brake to let it warm up. I do not set the brake when parked on a level surface due to freezing, but in starting and walking away I will.
Now to the problem. I noticed that at time my dash brake light was not lit. I did not tie it to this problem, but low and behold, those engineers at ford has tied the park brake switch to the high idle. The other morning I was fooling around with the switch trying to get the light to work. The moment it came on, the high idle kicked too. I just could not believe it. I shook it off, the idle died. Got it back on and off it took.
So if you are having this type of problem, the park brake is also a place to look.
Now a trip to the stealership with a jar of vasoline to buy the switch and fix two problems at one.
