which converts that 4 way to 7 way by using a ground (white), a trailer brake supply wire (blue), and a trailer accessory wire (black). I got the ground and trailer brake supply wire all hooked up but couldn't figure out what the black wire is meant to be connected to. Frustrated I went to hook up to a trailer and I had nothing, no stop, no turn signals, no running lights. The trucks were still working but it wasn't communicating to the trailer.
So my questions are:
1. Which wire does the black one connect to
2. Why won't it work!?
Chris The black wire is a hot 12volt wire. I beleave it used for charging the battery for the break away. Take a test light and put your 4 ways on and test the pins, If it lights up then you have power there. Lot of trailer have a ground problems that make them not work right. No ground = no lights.
Thanks doug, only thing is that I towed that exact same trailer a week ago with my buddies '05 F-350 6.0 and it worked perfect. I'm just anxious to see what my old girl can do!
