Hi guys.just a few days ago i noticed my turn signals quit working, along with my od.I looked and found a 15 amp fuse blown its #5 fuse in my chiltons manual.i replaced it with a 20 amp the auto store was sold out and the guy said it should be ok for awhile, sure enough,it blew again so i went back and he said try a 25,i was a little hesitant..didnt want to have a van bbq lol,but i was curious and i put it in there and after awhile it blew and i bought a 15 to put in there.so the other day i was troubleshhoting trying to figure out what was causing this to blow,i had my blinkers on and i push the cig lighter in and my blinkers an od button quit working(the od button would flash very dimly every ten sec or so,it would also just stay on).So I swapped another fuse in there and none of it would work anymore.I also noticed when i checked my fuses the time all this started that my cig liter fuse was blew which i replaced. Then later on that night i started my van and everything started working again for awhile lol.Im kinda thinking its a short somewhere but if any of u have advice i would appreciate it thx.
Are you sure it was fuse 5? This schematic shows fuse 5 feeding the aux battery relay. This schematic could be wrong. Do you have schematics for your van?
If the fuse does go to the aux battery, I wouldn't think it would be related to your problem. AutoZone.com Repair Guide Image
