Chicago Auto Show

Just got back and wanted to post some ramblings before I forgot.

The 2011 SuperDuty has to be seen in person. I didn't like the pics much but it shines in real life. The grille, imho, looks much better in the black XL/XLT version, lots of bling on the chrome one.

I trust the 6.7 is going to be a monster but the exhaust system with its "urea injector" is a joke in its' size and complexity.

The Raptor is everything everyone has been praising and more, what a badass looking truck. Ford was nice enough to have one open to play in. Fit and finish are top notch. Like the top dash covering, looks like a textured leather.

Even considering the nicely redesigned Dodge HD pickups, Ford still beat everyone hands down in the light, middle and heavy duty truck offerings. They had a tricked out F750screw upfitted with a dedicated fifth wheel flatbed (112k, bring your wallet), an F550/Altec boom, 2 or 3 utility bodies on 350 and 450 chassis, a 550 dump upfit, a 550 ambulance and a Dewalt work truck setup that supposedly is available later this year with pto's in the front/rear bumpers, remote locking tool storage, front winch and rear winch on a trolley that also encompasses the ladder racks and other add on goodies. About a half dozen upfitted transit connects too. AWESOME!

The Taurus SHO stole the show on car offerings and the Fusion has evolved into a true world class automobile. The reintroduced Fiesta is, well, a Fiesta but nicely appointed and finished.

Overall, Ford deserves the profitability and respect it has been receiving lately. Truly a great show.
