steering issues

1992 f-250 4x4 .The problem i am having is it takes two hands to make right hand turn left hand is normal. I have replaceded pump and hoses. checked front front end found frozen u-joint in drivers axel and bad wheel bearing . fixed those still have same problem . swap out auto hubs for manual did not help. is it possible that steering box would work in one direction only. also i am new to manual hubs when out in the mud can you lock hubs and leave transfer case in 2wd then shift to 4wd when i need to. or do you have to engage transfer case whenever hubs are locked.
Thanks

Sounds like you need a steering box.
As for the hubs, you can certainly leave them engaged while in 2wd.

In the winter, I spend a lot of time with hubs locked in 2H. It's no different than a lot of newer trucks that don't even have hubs, just makes for a bit worse MPGs and a little more universal wear, but they're not under serious load when you're not using the T-case.
