lost some lights while driving

lost some lights while driving

ok was driving home when my guage cluster lights,tail,fog,cab roof,marker on drw,and on the mirrors all went out at the same time.only my headlights and stop lights and directionals work. any help would be greatful. thanks in advance.

This happend to me right before my alternator went south, my gauges also bottomed out. A place to start checking?

I lived this same problem a little over a month ago. I think my problem was either a short somewhere around the back of my head unit or my cup holder. I think one or the other may have been pinching a wire. I know it doesn't give much info but that were the only two areas that looked suspect.

I tried a new headlight switch, disconnecting my trailer brake, disconnecting 7 pin plug at the back of the truck. I did have a blown fuse and it would pop every time I turned the headlight switch.

I guess my advice would be to start the search behind the dash.

Did you find your wiring problem? Like to know how things turned out. Im having issues with park lights going on me.
