302/351 compatibility question

I am wanting to take a early 90's 302 or 351 and change it from FI to Carb. Is this possible? I want to know if I can swap a 4 barrel intake onto the engine and run an older distributor and run it in my older truck. Just curious. Thanks in advance.

yes yes yes, just be careful of the distributor gear on the older distributor make sure you use the right one. If the cam is a roller you need to change the gear.

Do I have to swap out the gear from the newer to the older, or just buy a new gear?

you can swap them

if the engine has a flat tappet cam don't worry about it...
