Question need advise please

1992 f150 5.8 4x4...had a torque converter put in and when I got the truck back, I had little to no oil pressure. I emptied the oil and filled it with diesel and let it run about 40 minutes, emptied the diesel and put new oil and filter in and now the gauge is going back and forth from normal back to zero and if I gas it, it will go to normal and so on.Now my question...I have taken off the oilpump to replace it(motor in truck)and also cleaned the pick-up tube and now realize I 'd have to be double jointed and practice yoga to get the new one in...so....is it possible to stick the oilpump shaft in through the distributor to make it a little easier to put the pump in? This is the most difficult oilpump I have ever had to replace

why? I guess you were trying to 'clean' the motor, but this just doesn't sound like a good idea ..

not on the 302 that I have .. guess you could do it if you remove the 'keeper' ..

I'll agree with you there. One of the most horrible experiences I've had with one of these trucks.
