Got it the other day cheap. Guy said that you had to unhook the batray and rehook it up each time you wanted to start it. Well thats not the problem now. Took it off the trailer. pulled it up the road aout 20 feet and the thing died and rolled back to the yard.
Now when I turn the key over I dont hear the fuel pump. So I got a new relay. Still no go. I am getting 12 volts Hot and 12 volts from the switch. I gound the one that goes back to the ecm. But it still want fire. But if I put fuel in the intake it will run till ful is gone.
Sound to me like the pump is dead. Best test is to put 12V directly to the pump and listen for it to kick in. If it does not, you def. need to replace it.
check your inertia switch, mine is behind the kick panel on the pass. side, make sure to pop the red button out then push it back in--also check to see if you have power to it.

Well its Good because if I just the relay the pump comes on. Its beteen the relay and the pump.
check out the wiring at the relays, wiggle them around with the key in run position. And also check out the ecm relay next to fuel pump relay and its connections also
Make sure the small black wire with a green stripe has a good ground at the NEG post of the battery.
If it has a good ground then it is more than likely the computer.
Ok I got the computer for 35 bucks. At frist no go. Then I done some beating on the fuel pump relay and it started working. But now the thing runs rough. Want stay idleing. I may put the old computer in there and see if that fixes anything. If it doesnt what sensors control idle? I may need to start replaceing them one at a time. Can anyone list most liket in order.
before you start throwing parts at it, i would check the fuel system to make sure it is working properly since you were having trouble with it before. i still think the pump is going bad...get yourself a fuel pressure gauge and tell us what you are getting. btw the inertia switch on my truck is located on the firewall behind the fuse box on the drivers side.
Update . The ground going to the battry from the Computer. Wasnt on good. Fixed that. Now the fuel pump turns on each time. I pump new temp senor and it idles rough. Dont know I will look into it more in the next few days.
