Looks like you guys already answered my question. I am looking to purchase a SD an was debating getting one of the front suspension upgrades. From the lit. it looks like the standard SD does not have the steering stabilizer. If I go with the FX, Camper, Snow Plow, or Heavy Service packages, a steering stabilzer will be added as part of the package.
I was thinking about the possibilty of adding an aftermarket stabilizer. I tend to DRIVE my truck across the pasture/fields on my farm (not creep) and was thinking that a stabilizer might be beneficial.
I also like my teeth where they are and don't like the idea of the "heaviest springs" on the front end.
Well, I had the Rancho steering stabilizer installed tonight:-) Haven't had an opportunity to see how it performs when in windy conditions, etc., but will post an update as soon as I do. I will say that I was impressed with the firmer steering on the short trip home.
National tire and wheel has an online store and their kit is around $80 and they are very easy to install. just remember to lube the bushing lightly so the bushing slides in easily. The stabilizer really helps on any potholes or curbs that you drive over.
