Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the help you've provided my truck and I directly and indirectly over the years. I sold the 1962 4x4 today and purchased an 87 super cab 4x4. It feels like a member of the family is gone now, but I hope in time the new rig will fill the shoes of the old.... All this because SHE said I needed a more civilized rig, one SHE could drive. I'm going to regret that part for sure!
The 62 has a good home with a young kid from the next town over, it was fun trying to teach him how to work the choke and pump the Flintstone brakes. Good thing these are solid trucks!
Will we ever learn?! I brought home a 71 SNB a couple of years ago to use the 390 in a 65 SWB project that I was working on. My wife decided that the 71 was "cute" and we should fix it instead! Fixed the 71 for her and she never drove it. Sold the 65 SWB. But at least I still have the 390 to use in something else.
Well, she gets the Taurus. But she thinks the Taurus is OK for the back roads of Montana.... just ask the remains of the suspension and my patience if that is what the factory intended
