6Spd Tranny HP?

Anyone have any idea what the 6 gear stick trannys are good to? Hp wise?

I remember reading here that the clutch was slipping on higher power tunes....but I don't remember what the power was....

Worry not john! You won't be breaking that tranny with what you are doing or planning on doing to it. By the way. . . everything all done?

Yup, finally... after a weekend of hell... Now I just have a coolant issue that seems to blow coolant all under my hood (on the passenger side) and down the side of the truck, but only when I stand on it on the highway. Not sure why... Ideas? (See my other thread)

I understand that the corvette, BMW and mercedes use the ZF 6 sp. Don't know what the HP is in these cars but probably a darn sight higer than a 7.3.

Check your heater core hose clamps going to the motor!

Have already, but might not hurt to replace stock clamps with screw type hose clamps... Just doesn't seem to leak when I am parked and just rev the bag off of it... Seems only under high boost... (Hoping its not a head gasket already, as they are the O-Ring Gaskets... Big $$$)

I don't think its the exact same tranny is it? Even if it is, none of them are moving a 7500lb object or towing up to another 12k behind them...

I've heard some guys on other forums talking about 550 hp on our stock trannies and they are holding up.
