need some starting advice
i just swapped a motor in a 1996 f 350 7.3 powerstroke. it'll turn over, but it wont even pop over. ive noticed that in most ford cars, when you go to crank the car, you can hear the fuel pump turn on just before it starts to turn over. i dont hear this whe cranking the f350 over. is this normal? should i spray diesel in the intake? im pretty sure the glow plugs are good/working. im not in a really cold climate either PLEASE HELP!!!! thanks you guys....

so this was a direct swap? don,t think you will hear the fuel pump it is a mechanical pump open up the fuel filter lid and see how much fuel is there you can check the fuel pressure while someone cranks it over see if your getting pressure are you sure you hooked everything back up correctly?

Are you sure YOU did the swap? Or you had someone else do the swap? Lol if you did the swap then you should have noticed deffinetly somewere alobng the line of a fuel pump ontop of the motor, it runs off the cam -_ lift pump, fill the fuel bowl with diesel or tranny fluid or what ever you have laying around, a powerstroke diesel uses highpressure oil to fire the injectors, so I'm sure you've changed the oil or did some kind ofof changing so give it 6 second bursts of trying to fire it up, and what ever ytou do, don't use ether! Unless you know 100% that your glow plugs are unhooked and have no juice to them

Make sure your high pressure oul pump resivoir is full of oil, That will cause a no start, Its the piece where you oil pressure sending switch is theres a little allen key to remove the plug to fill it up, or just unscrew the switch and will it to the top,
