Body Swap

I have a 74 F100 4x4, with a bad body. I also have a 74 F100 2wd with a good body. I wait to keep the 4x4 but put the 2wd Body on there. Any thoughts as to if this is possible. I figure that there are a few things that I have to do, like make a hole for the transfer lever, and I dont know if the trans tunnels are the same. Both trucks are long beds, so i dont have to worry about messing with the frame or bed length. Any help would be nice.

If you pull the floor mat out of the 4x4 the tunnel hump unbolts and can be installed in the 2X cab. the 2X cab may or may not unbolt but if it doesn't there is the line there to cut it, it is an easy deal.

Thanks I will take a look. I am also swaping the motor in the 2wd to the 4x4, cause it runs good. I will be putting up some pictures here in a little bit. Thank for the info.

I think you will have to swap steering columns but it's easy. Look and compare how they hook to the gear box, I think they are different.

'74 body - '89 frame

I would have a similar question.

I've got a '74 F250 body, in goog condition, and I have an '89 4x4 frame. Can I build up the old '74 body ond the '89 frame perhaps? Smaller modifications are no problem of course.

Please excuse me if I'm in a wrong topic, I'm first time visitor here on the forum!

I generally say anything is possible with enough time money and skills.
This will be a sex change and quite a bit of fabbing. Its only money let us know how it turns out.

You would have to look at the difference in the body mounts from 74 to 89 and where the front radiator support would mount to the frame. Steering gear mount too.
