Quick ZF question please help ASAP
hey guys im looking for a ZF to go into the 95 in my sig...i have found lots of them around me problem is they are all either 2wd or big block or both
IIRC the gas engines all had one ratio (big block and small block) then the diesels had their own ratios right...but the bellhousing is different between small and big block gassers, so essentially there are 3 different ZFs
my question is, is the input shaft and clutch the same between big block and small block gassers? like i mentioned i can get one for a big block gasser easily if it will work, is there a bellhousing swap i can do or are they integral? i can get an adaptor made too if thats all i will need...

Have you checked ebay? The bell housing is integral to the case, so swapping just the bell housing is not an option. I don't know what or if there is a difference between the big and small block input shafts, but I think it would be a whole lot easier to get the correct transmission to start with.

ive checked ebay,kijiji,autotrader, and i have asked many many people
someone called about my ad looking for one but it was from a diesel...there WAS one 3 blocks from my place but it sold...

I'm not sure how much you are looking to spend, but here's one on ebay for $1000 or best offer: 92-96 ZF 4X4 REBUILT TRANSMISSION FOR F150/F250/F350 : eBay Motors (item 150405959821 end time Feb-15-10 10:50:20 PST)
Keep checking ebay, something should pop up eventually. That's where I bought my ZF.

yeah but my M5OD is...shot...for lack of a better word...i needed a tranny ASAP and i couldnt find the "right" ZF...but i had a lot of the "wrong" ones...
i bought another POS M5OD for now to get me through till i find a ZF hopefully by this summer when im hoping to have the engine out anyway...
