I`m kinda stuck here and need some opinions on stuff that really works well for ya`ll. Next week or so I plan to add 3-4 rocker/upfitter switches on my 01. I`d like to add
1. reverse lights,,,,,what kind?
Id like them to not be so noticeable
2. On-board compressor,,,,what kind?
3. High Idle mod,,,,,already got directions for a 05 so I`m hoping that it will be the same.
I have a few that I`m looking at but on the net of course they say "we`re # 1" so thats why I`m asking my brethren here
For the back up lights, I copied Ron and did something like this
See the light between the bumper and bed below the brake lights? The ones I got had a light blue tint to the lens, but they're as bright as my headlights.
Neither of those is my truck, but I've got the same type set up based on these ideas. I believe you can get those round rocker switches at Auto Zone and O'reillys. The lights I got at either O'Reillys or Pep Boys.
Sorry, but my memory isn't what it used to be. The good news is I got all my stuff at some local parts stores. The install was pretty easy, but I did have a hole saw that was the right size for the round switches. It came with my heated seats install kit.

sweet spot for the reverse lights!! I like that idea!
I got some from walmart that are $12ea, they are about 3x5" and are flood lights. I mounted them on each side of the receiver bolted to the bumper.
as for the switches don't get the cheap ones...from my experience they don't last long and are more trouble than they are worth! I was down at 4wheel parts last week and saw some nice ones made by "daystar" about $10ea they would require some cutting of the dash because they are rectangle shape and kinda large...but might work for you.
as for an air compressor I run a Viair compressor they are nice and will do just about anything you want depending on the model.
As for the switches you could look at the recent post on labeling the uffitter switches. I did the f650 lower dash mod by hand over a year ago but know they have the prebuilt ones that include 6 switches and spots for your air guages. Nice setup
yep no problem one thing though is that is starting with a full air tank if you are going from nothing in the tank your looking at like 7 minutes a tire.
