Thumbs up Thanks for the help, again!

Just a little investigating, and simple problems are solved. Fuse # 30 blew. Can anyone venture a guess as to why? 1999, F 250, Van Aaken 4 position chip, 4 inch exhaust. Wife's daily driver (20 mls/day). Only I get on it on occasion. Might have shorted battery (I did) while jumping my dodge 2500 ram (gelled fuel, tank treatment, many starts, ford assist). Could it be that simple? Just looking for ideas. Chris

I think a common cause of that fuse blowing is a short in the fuel bowl heater. You can unplug that connection on the fuel bowl and see if that solves your problem. Then you can choose to replace that heater, or just leave it unplugged.

What keith said. If it blew. and you replace and try to run it again without unplugging the bowl heater it will blow again.

I did some research, and from what I understand, the bowl heater wire is in the back of the fuel bowl, down about 1.5". I think I found it, it is a white plug with two wires, one looks red with a tracer, the other is whitish or yellow. Is there a trick to unplugging, cause it is not cooperating?

Never mind. I found that famous photo with everything labeled. Used a small standard screw driver and the plug jumped off. Thanks for the help again. I figure it saved me at least $ 100 tow, and who knows if the mechanic is a member here, maybe more. Chris

$100 tow? Wow I wanna live there....thats cheap. I had my little popup camper winched onto a flatbed and hauled 20 miles to a shop and it cost $400. Although I was in the mountains so they are higher there.

Hope it works out for you.... Unless you are in 20 or below all the time, the heater really isn't needed...but its still nice to know that everything under the hood is working as it should...even if it's not really needed.
