New Ford Guy Here

Hello everyone,

Just bought a 2004 F250 Lariat Crew Cab, Diesel. Wow, I love this thing.

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a pair of stock chrome Running Boards. Apparently, someone removed them. I'm looking for the chrome ones, not the plastic ones. If you can help I would appreciate it much.

Thank you,

Roy

Hi Roy, welcome to the site.

I'll keep my eyes open and ask around a little.

Hey Roy, welcome aboard! Stick around and soon you'll be broke from doing mods LOL, but with he money you save on any repairs you should break even. FTE rules!

And I mean it- the guys here have saved me literally thousands of dollars on repairs. I would go on the record to say I know more about the 7.3 than my local dealer does, and I even do repairs on the side (craiglist!) to help make ends meet.

Hello Roy,

Since you mentioned chrome, I assume you are looking for "step bars", not running boards.

For a crewcab, 5" aluminum/chrome step bars are part number 4C3Z-16450-KAA.

I bought them for my truck on eBay. You can search for the above part number. If you don't find it, you can post a wanted ad on eBay. I did that and it wasn't long before a dealer emailed me with an offer. I paid $225 + $40 shipping back in 2007 (for a Supercab). List price is over $400.

You can also try a sponsor here at FTE, like Ed Olson.

That was then...today, it's a different story.

4C3Z16450KAA = MSRP: $535.31 // PARTSGUYED.COM price: $450.00.

If you have the Ford part number, all you have to do is type into Ed's site to get the MSRP & discount prices, but...

REMOVE any spaces or hyphens. Type the number like I did above.

If you type the number with spaces and/or hyphens, you will get the message: No Parts Found.

btw: Not listed on Ed's site is the dealer net on this puppy, which is 3 six bits.

Did you ever find your steps? I stumbled across these on Craigslist just now.

Steps off 2005 F-250superduty crew cab

Saw them and remembered this thread. Excellent price for anyone who needs them.

These step bars are now obsolete can no longer be ordered from Ford.

Last MSRP: $535.71 / Dealer Net Cost: $375.00.

Closest sources that still have stock:

CAL-STATE AUTO PARTS (Motorcraft jobber) in Chatsworth CA has FOUR = 818-998-0555.

NORTH COUNTY FORD in Vista CA has ONE = 760-945-9939.

Those are not the style offered in that Craigslist advert. The ones in the advert are a little higher end style I think, like Lariat maybe. Not sure about that, but definitely different than the style I bought.
