new guy.

I finally snapped some pictures of my truck, so after lurking on here for a while i decided i would post it up. the truck is a 1949 F2 that was given a frame shortening, 250 chevy inliner, and a powerglide.

Wow, bowtie with a powerglide....interesting combo

There's some cool speed parts available for the old stovebolts.

Welcome to the board!
Bobby

Nice ride! You should be proud as your truck seems to be coming along great. Progress is extra slow for me because most parts cost close to $100.00 to ship to Alaska. When I lived in the lower 48 shipping was little to nothing.

Valve cover looks cool. Body looks to be in pretty good shape.

Actually that appears to be a very late Stovebolt; I swear I see an EGR?? And the bolts with cad plating are in holes for air injection? Anyway, it's an unusual combination for sure!

I found a bed and some fenders so I threw them on, and I must say they do not look half bad for mix matched parts.

Looks like you are coming alone pretty good. I think thats the first white firewall I've seen. What color or colors are you going with on the body.

Cool truck! I have a 48 F-3 that I cut down to F-1 size also. The F-1 fenders will fit right in place of the big truck fenders too if you want them and so will full length F-1 running boards. I considered going with the 250 inch Chevy six / 350 turbo for my 49 F-1 because I had one out of a 75 Malibu at the time but eventually went with a 302/AOD. There are also cast iron dual exhaust manifolds available for the 250 like the old Fentons that were used on the 216/235 engines. Good luck with your truck!
