fuel pump question
if the light comes on and truck chugs and no power can it but the fuel pump if you shut the truck off and turn it back on the lights off till it does it again with is less then a mile at this point

Quite possibly clogged filter screen pickups in the tank. Check the pump first like mentioned above first, somebody will be by to tell you how to do that. The Hutch and Harpoon mods, I'll be doing those this week coming, weather permiting. Do a search on those mods and a bunch of info will pop up.

First prepare for fuel to leak on you or the ground. Disconnect fuel line at infeed of rail pump. If fuel runs out that is a good sign (no clog). If it only drips from the line, remove tank cap and using an air compressor, blow into the fuel line and allow it to bubble in the tank. This opens the line and pushes trash away.
Install a pressure gauge to the lower plug of the fuel bowl to verify pump is working and indicates when the filter needs changed.

i cleaned the filters in tank and even the filter housing on the front to and new filter there to its got over 300000 miles and the filter in tank was dirty and metal shavings so the lost of fuel i was thinking messed the injectors some to anyways so the fuel pump could have calleds it all
