injector install ?'s
i got the old oil out of the cylinders with my syringe nad cranked the motor by hand 5 or 6 times than wiped out the injector cups as thouroghly as I could. if theres still alittle left in the cylinders, is it bad? how well do the cups need to be cleaned?
Should I use engine grease on just the inj o-rings or the whole injector?
want to make sure I do it write
When I put mine back in I just took an oil can and soaked the o-rings all real good. I squirted oil all over the o-rings while holding the injector over the head so when it ran off the injector it went in the head instead of all over. Like I said, I was generous with the oil. Then I just stuck it in and tapped in easy with a rubber mallet. You can tell when its all the way in as the sound changes.
good luck
You are cranking the HPOP and fuel pump at the same time and most likely dumping more oil and fuel back into the cylinders.
Suck out what you can, make sure the syringe gets way down on the low pistons, put the injectors back in and bolted down, then slowly crank the motor. You can then crank a few times by hand or do short clicks on the starter till you know for sure the motor will spin freely.
Some guys pull the glow pulgs and bolt the vc back down after the injectors are back in, THEN you can turn the motor over.
