guy i was thinking maybe if i do the truck/tree combo i wont even need to take the bolts off cause if ther as rusty as the rest of the truck they should snap right off?
No, they are 3/8 thick the bed is 16ga steel... big difference in how they rust. Trust me I was hoping that would be the case on mine but it wasnt.
Not that it makes any difference but they are close to 1/2 in at the threads.

i had my friend move my truck under the tree, hooked the ropes up to the 4 corners and jacked the bed up, hook his truck to mine and move the truck then put 2 sawhouses under the bed. i kept the ropes there just incase the wind blows it off the sawhourses, so this way the bed cant hit the ground messing put the metal
