I have 1 2002 F150with 39000 miles that I am having trouble with the ABS system. Have hooked up 3 scanners including one at Ford dealer and the codes C1229 and C1230 keep showing up . Three different rear speed sensors have been installed including one at Ford dealer and the light still comes back on. Dealer run a Pinpoint diagnostic test and said it pointed to the ABS module. The two codes reference rear speed sensor circuit failure and coherency fault.
Before I spend $500.00 + for an ABS module I would like to get some input from you guys.
just unplug the damn thing, I have had mine unplugged for over a year now. your brakes will still work fine, you just wont have ABS. when you send your module to fixed it will not be on the truck anyway. look on ebay there are some guys on there that rebuild them as well, I think ive seen them for about $75-$100.
